January 17, 2021 - The Salome Institute Director, Satya Doyle Byock, held a free community salon following the white mob at the Capitol in Washington DC. Cited works are drawn primarily from Jung's Collected Works Volume 10, sections of which are also published in The Undiscovered Self.

After a brief introduction to Carl Jung and his biography, Satya dives into Jung’s insights into white supremacy, mob mentality, and the writing and psychology that evolved from Jung’s observations of the human condition before and after World War I. In this work, Satya discusses the potential for mass psychosis and the potential for healing through both inner work and an acknowledgment of the collective unconscious.

Your donations support the hosting of this kind of spur-of-the-moment, relevant conversation for the future.

At The Salome Institute, we hope to remain agile in our programming so that when collective events challenge all of our understanding, we can process them together as soon as possible. Our goal is to provide an understanding of current events with the unconscious in mind.
